blouse & skirt is the creation of Oscar-nominated Make-up artist Beverley Binda.
She was born in Jamaica, raised and educated in London, rounding off with a degree from UCL.
Trained in make-up at the BBC make-up school after which she remained working with the company gaining experience from a wide range of award-winning experts and productions before going freelance in 1990.
Armed with this wide canvas of experience she quickly fitted into the freelance circuit, gaining industry awards for her work. Now highly regarded from both her Oscar and Emmy nominations [and of course an engaging personality!], she continues to work on films, TV programmes, commercials and music promos. Most recently Beverley was a part of the make-up team nominated in the 2006 BAFTAs for 'Bleak House'.
"When I started in Make-up I was always the only ethnic face on a film set. Now it's great to see black girls in all areas of the industry, both behind and in front of camera. I wanted to create a brand that reflected the vibrance and style of 21st century ethnic women".
Working on some of the biggest names in showbiz, Beverley has now brought her professional know-how to a fresh, upbeat make-up brand specifically for darker skin tones.
